Great work. Lip sync seemed a little slow. You should try doing it on ones and making open and closed mouths a lot more distinctive.

Nicely directed and a great art style

That wasn't too bad, well executed. The Animation/drawings didn't need to be super detailed or fluid for the subject, so It was okay.

Isn't the thumbnail just a blonde version of one of Glen Keane's Ariel stills?

Fancy pants!

Can I suggest you post an Audio Submission of the song at the end if it isn't already uploaded?

It would definitely promote your page to a different audience and would be a great independent track

The visuals are strong in this animation, still improving from the previous installments.

But the first conversation scene?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuuucc-.....zzzzzZZZZz zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ.

You combine a lot of visual styles. A LOT. With inspiration obviously coming from a selection of popular anime and action films/cartoons.

I wrote a review for your first episode about consistency and the same problems arise, font use being a major one.
Is there a need for about 10 fonts in one animation? I don't see what individual ones add to the feel of the story, or the dialogue. They're pointless aesthetics, some of which aren't as easy to read as others, a simple sans-serif comic dialogue font or something such as Arial, Helvetica or Gotham would suffice as they are easy to read. I suppose you have produced 3 animations with this style, so changing at this stage would perhaps even "create" inconsistency

Your voice acting is fantastic, I must say the audio sounds great, and there are a variety of great music and sound effects.

This is an impressive animation for the length of it and I prefer it a lot more than the previous two, even if the conversations can be quite dry and long winded.

Flash unfortunately doesn't benefit your artwork

I'm not sure how beneficial it is to show your artwork with audio and panning. I would love to see this work in its full definition, not majorly compressed into a .swf. Flash at the file limits of NG will simply pixelate half of the beautiful lines and tones that I'm sure are present in your actual work.

Newgrounds has a brilliant Art Portal where a still of your work can be viewed by people that enjoy producing and critiquing eachothers artwork. Why not try there in future?

Michael1957 responds:

Thanks for the advice. Your right. There is a great loss of quality in the picture.

Nice Audio

If this is your own audio then I think that a submission to the Audio Portal would earn you a lot more success.
The animation is not great with an inconsistent art style and really serves no purpose but to further the idea that this is a zelda-based piece.
From looking at your website I see that you are very audio focused. Perhaps submitting your work there is a step in the right direction

SheepOvatsug responds:

The audio was made by Mat Graham (ArtificialFear), not me. His link is in the discription.
Please could you be more specific on what you mean by " inconsistent art style"? Thanks for the feedback!

Eh-...hmmm

I ju- I dunno, it's alright, but for some reason I just don't care about any of the characters. There's no sense of emotion in the characters despite their facial expression, I mean, watch about 20 minutes of Dragonball Z and you'll know what I'm talking about. It had this kind of style down.

Some of the art is nice, but the style of parts such as the background and the fire just don't feel in keeping with the characters. They need some complimenting colours, or shades to fit in.

The fonts annoyed me the whole way through. Stick to one, try using the same size unless it's to add dramatic effect, and if at a stretch perhaps one more font for a different style could work, but seriously not one for every character.

It feels like you put every style you've ever tried into a blender and poured them into Flash, but nonetheless you succeeded in creating a piece of quite impressive length and content

Lacks creativity, probably belongs elsewhere

I fear this lacks the creative drive that Newgrounds tries to maintain in its content. Perhaps it would be better suited to a different user generated content website where videos such as this would be received better by an audience looking for this particular type of clip. It is not bad content, just perhaps misplaced

Fantastic

Really amazing artwork, story and special features. The bloopers and even the sets were hilarious. Looked at the storyboards in the hope of finding help for storyboarding in general and just ended up laughing my head off. Brilliant submission.

ken9000 responds:

I didn't realize until after I made the fake storyboards, that I actually made real ones when I first started. They're really sloppy and not worth looking at.

uh-hmmm

I...don't really understand the point of the animation.

Your art had a nice style, however the canned laughter was a little irritating

Gerkinman responds:

The point was to take 35 seconds of your life and never giving it back ;D

Lazy Fourth New Channel. Always working on something new and never have something complete that I'd love to post. The day will come
